The Diabetes Component was developed in cooperation with the International Diabetes Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota and based on a clinical study of the New Direction Program specifically for obese patients with type 2 diabetes. The medical protocol and all associated materials were reviewed and updated by a physician specializing in the obesity treatment of persons with type 2 diabetes in 2008.
